3-minute read
A few years ago, I saw a crazy picture.
I was sure it was Photoshopped.
It was a crow literally riding on the back of a bald eagle.
I had to see if it was true or not, I found the original photographer who took the picture, you can read his story here.
There’s also a motivational speaker telling the story of why this happens, you can watch the YouTube video here.
Basically, it comes down to the crow getting a free ride to get a free lunch
While at the same time, being a punk.
Crows love harassing people and other animals.
They especially love doing “fly-bys” thinking they’re Maverick in a Top Gun movie.
But the cool thing is that the bald eagles rise above the crows petty bullshit.
Literally.
You see crows generally don’t fly above 250 feet, on a rare instance, they might go as high as 5000 feet.
But the bald eagle, regularly flies 10,000 feet and if it wants to it can weather the cold thin air of 20,000 feet.
Heights the crow cannot handle.
So without even trying, the bald eagle can just shrug the crow by flying higher.
Be an eagle among crows, here’s how…
You Are the Eagle, My Friend!
Don’t let doubt, fear, or negativity be your crow.
Here’s how to channel your inner eagle and leave those crows flapping in the dust:
1. Identify Your Crows: What are the negative voices holding you back? Self-doubt? Toxic people? Bad habits? Recognize them, but don’t dwell on them. They’re just noise.
2. Focus on Your Ascent: What’s your vision, your goal? Set your sights high, like the mountain peak you’re gonna conquer. Every action, every decision, becomes a step towards that peak. Don’t get distracted by the squawking.
3. Rise Above the Drama: When negativity tries to pull you down, don’t engage. Remember, the eagle doesn’t fight the crow. It just soars higher, leaving the crow struggling in thin air. Use that same strategy. Stay calm, focused, and keep climbing.
4. Surround Yourself with Eagles: Find your tribe, your fellow climbers. Seek out mentors, friends, and communities who lift you up, not drag you down. Remember, iron sharpens iron.
5. Remember, You Got This: Look back at how far you’ve already come. Every challenge overcome is a feather in your wings. You’re stronger, wiser, and closer to your peak than you think.
Action Steps, Warrior-Style:
- Meditate: Clear your mind, silence the inner crows. Find your inner peace, your eagle focus.
- Visualize: See yourself at your peak, strong and victorious. Feel the power, the confidence.
- Take Action: Every day, one step closer to your goal. Don’t let the crows distract you from the climb.
- Help Others: Be the eagle who lifts others up, share your strength, and build your eagle squad.
Remember, brother, you were born to fly, not flap.
Spread your wings, ignore the crows, and soar towards your destiny.
You got this!
